The MO Dawgs Baseball coaching staff is committed to teaching the game the right way. Our coaches focus on fundamentals, baseball IQ, and long-term player growth—while building confidence, accountability, and a strong team culture.
MO Dawgs coaches are dedicated to developing complete athletes. We believe in intentional instruction, honest feedback, and creating a positive environment where players are challenged to grow on and off the field.

MO Dawgs Baseball is led by a three-person leadership team:
Bob Roth, Managing Owner; Kayla Bailey, Program Operations Manager; and Jonathan Curd, Director of Training & Development.
Together, they oversee program direction, operations, player development, training, communication, and long-term growth.

10U Black Coach | 14U Black Coach
Coach Bob Roth is committed to developing athletes on and off the field, using baseball to teach discipline, teamwork, resilience, and accountability. His coaching philosophy focuses on character, personal growth, and helping each player reach their full potential.
A standout shortstop at Marquette High School, Coach Roth earned Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2005 before playing in the Mon-Clair League and spending a season in the Washington Nationals organization with the GCL Nationals. With over 15 years of coaching experience across all age levels and multiple St. Louis–area clubs, he brings deep baseball knowledge, strong leadership, and a passion for player development to MO Dawgs Baseball.
Kayla Bailey serves as the Head of Program Operations for MO Dawgs Baseball, bringing extensive experience in youth sports leadership, coaching, marketing, parent communication, facility coordination, and program organization. An all-star cheer and tumbling coach, Kayla is US SafeSport Certified and a proud member of the United States All Star Federation (USASF), USA Gymnastics (USAG), and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).
As a baseball mom and author of Raising an Athlete and Coaching Beyond the Performance, Kayla is deeply passionate about building structured, supportive, and family-focused sports programs. At MO Dawgs, she works closely with leadership, coaches, parents, and players to manage daily operations, registration, facility use, marketing, and overall program growth. She is always available to answer questions, assist families, and champion the MO Dawgs Baseball community.

Head Pitching Coach | 14U Black Coach
Coach John Curd brings over 30 years of playing and coaching experience to MO Dawgs Baseball, working with athletes from youth through college levels. A former two-way player, he competed as both a pitcher and infielder, playing high school baseball before continuing his career at Washington University in St. Louis, where he later joined the coaching staff as a pitching coach.
Coach Curd is driven by a deep passion for player development and is especially known for his expertise in infield defense. His high-energy, all-encompassing approach challenges athletes to grow both physically and mentally—building strong fundamentals, confidence, and a competitive mindset that translates on and off the field.

8U Red Coach
Matt grew up in Southern Illinois where his love for baseball took root early. He was a four-year varsity letterman and three-year starting catcher in high school, while also playing three seasons for American Legion Post 747.
Matt's coaching philosophy is built on the fundamentals that shaped him as a player: hard work, hustle, and respect—for teammates, coaches, and umpires alike. He's a strong believer in youth athletes playing multiple sports, understanding that well-rounded development creates better players and, more importantly, better people.
9U Red Coach
Coach Ryan Zeugin brings years of coaching experience and a deep passion for player development. He has spent four years coaching athletes from grade school through high school, helping players grow in skill, confidence, and love for the game.
A former collegiate infielder at Missouri Valley College, Coach Zeugin teaches the game with insight and purpose. His coaching philosophy emphasizes a fun, positive environment focused on developing well-rounded athletes both on and off the field.
9U Black Coach
Coach Clukies is a lifelong student of the game, having grown up immersed in baseball as both a player and now a coach. A St. Louis native, he played competitive baseball through college, where he learned the importance of preparation, discipline, and teamwork. Those experiences shape his coaching style today as he works to teach the game in a way that is encouraging, age-appropriate, and motivating for young athletes.
Family drives everything Coach Clukies does. He and his wife, Lindsay, are raising their three sons—Brady, Blake, and Bo—and he strongly believes youth sports are a powerful tool for developing confidence, resilience, and work ethic. On the field, he blends skill development with competition, emphasizing fundamentals, effort, and accountability while building a positive team culture. Coach Clukies challenges players to push themselves, support one another, and learn through both wins and adversity, with the ultimate goal of helping each athlete grow and develop a lifelong love for baseball.
9U Black Coach
Coach Morgan grew up in St. Louis and brings a lifelong love of baseball to the field. His playing experience through high school helped shape his understanding of the game and instilled the values of discipline, preparation, and teamwork. Today, those lessons translate into a coaching style centered on strong fundamentals, consistent effort, and personal responsibility from every athlete.
Off the field, Coach Morgan is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Amanda, are raising their three children—Maria, Francesca, and Vinny—and he believes youth sports are essential for building confidence, character, and resilience in young athletes. He strives to create an environment that blends skill development with healthy competition, encouraging players to push themselves, support their teammates, and develop a genuine passion for the game. Coach Morgan believes that a strong attitude and relentless effort set the foundation for success.
10U Red Coach
Coach Briley Buckley brings high-level playing experience and a strong passion for player development to MO Dawgs Baseball. Originally from Overland Park, Kansas, he began his college career at Johnson County Community College (Division I JUCO), where he was a dominant closer on a 49-win team and helped lead a Regional Championship run.
He continued his career at NCAA Division I Abilene Christian University before a shoulder injury ended his playing days. Coach Buckley now channels his love for the game into coaching, focusing on fundamentals, competitiveness, and helping players grow with confidence on and off the field.
13U Red Coach
Jackson Curd. Jackson has been playing organized baseball since he was five years old. He has spent the past 9–10 years competing in high-level summer ball. He currently plays for St. Charles Community College. His playing career has nurtured his love of the game and also taught him the value of hard work and perseverance. When not playing Jackson has also been working as a coach. Over the last five years, he has spent time working with youth teams and players from the ages of 9–14U. His time on the field and in coaching reflects his love for the game and his commitment to helping younger players grow.
14U - Coach
Coach Andy Lambert brings a strong playing background and a passion for player development to the MO Dawgs Baseball program. Born in Dubuque, Iowa, and raised in Winterset, he earned a degree in Sports Management from the University of Iowa. He developed his competitive foundation as a four-year varsity letterman in high school.
Andy continued his career pitching at Central Iowa College, where he contributed to a championship season while earning First Team All-State and unanimous First Team All-Conference honors from 2016–2018. As the 14U coach, he focuses on helping athletes grow both mentally and physically—building strong fundamentals, confidence, and the mindset needed to succeed on and off the field.

11U Red Coach
Coach Roth Sr. brings decades of playing and coaching experience to MO Dawgs Baseball. He played three years of varsity baseball at Lafayette High School, followed by three years of Legion baseball with Ballwin, before continuing his playing career at the semi-professional level in Iowa for two years.
With extensive youth coaching experience across Ballwin, Manchester, and Pond, Coach Roth Sr. was one of the first coaches in Ballwin to help establish a high school summer league and has also coached at the Little League World Series level. He is especially passionate about hitting instruction, focusing on fundamentals, confidence, and helping players develop a consistent and competitive approach at the plate.
